His team won the state championship game in the spring of 2005. The first time the school had won the spring one in 40 years. They had gone to state every year in his high school years and finally won. The community was happy! The team had an auction and pie supper and raised over 14 thousand dollars that night. Needless to say, they all were able to get their championship rings.
